It's July 4 in the USA. The day we celebrate our independence. A few years ago I was looking for a way to come up with a patriotic image that didn't utilize red white and blue. I was interested in an image that was thoroughly American but didn't necessarily relate to the colors of our flag. For no particular reason than to be different. I wanted something very simple in terms of the graphics but still communicated a strong compelling image. I drew this in line then scanned it and hand colored the image in Photoshop. The edges of the colors were all done by hand using a Photoshop brush. That was the only tool I used expect for the text and the border of the image.
