Something from Project Y

That was the code name for the video game that became 'Jak and Daxter'. I was signed to a year contract to provide development art to Naughty Dog in 2000. Created 603 pages of artwork. Here's something from the early phase of development. Drawn in black line with color markers.

  1. Nicely brutal... prehistoric beast?

  2. Hey Charles! Not necessarily related to Jak but I found some sketches from Crash 2!

Is there more unpublished artwork from Crash 2? I would love to see one with Crash on the Jetski!

  3. It was more of an imaginary creature than something prehistoric. The early work on J&D centered around developing goblin like characters.

I remember those drawings from Crash 2. I'm sure I have more. Also there's Crash 3 and lots of stuff from Nitro Kart and development from the original Crash that probably hasn't been seen before.

  5. I have to find it and go through it all to see what's there. I think there's quite a lot of art that hasn't been shown before. I'll get to it soon.

  8. Hey Pat, I remember these drawings. Actually some of it I forgot about. Seeing them again they come to mind. This is early stuff but there's artwork and designs even earlier than this that have never been shown.
