Judging by the look, I guess it's your design!

I love that drawing! If you have it can you post it on your blog Charles?
However this two drawing are really funny, In your style Crash never changes :D

The drawing of Crash that Pat linked to was the first drawing that was approved as the official look of the character. At the time he was Willy the Wombat. It's a final line cleanup that I did based upon a Joe Pearson sketch. Naughty Dog liked what they saw in Joe's drawing of the character so I fixed it up and this was the result. I don't know who did the color. I have a copy of the line drawing and will post it soon.

That's great! Were there any drawings of the Crash characters colored?

The color that I personally worked on was painting the first backgrounds for the original game when it was being developed. I painted three background concepts that were initially drawn by Joe Pearson. Then later on I did a color comp for a design concept that was the cover of the first Crash game. It was the basis for the final cover that was used when it was published. The second link you posted Pat is from the design I did for the cover concept I just mentioned. I don't have a copy of the color work but I do have copies of the original sketches. I'll post them up later on also.

This is very cool hearing all of this. We finally get to see some of the art that has been never been released to the public.

We're any of these sketches rendered in 3D?

Everything that was done in 3D at the time was very crude especially character wise. I have a printout of the first 3D model of Crash along with his color chart. There's a lot of stuff along with whole galleries of other art that I'm looking to digitize and publish. Many projects current and past.

I am so stoked about it!
