Crash Bandicoot - New Color Markers

Howdy folks !! I recently purchased a new set of color markers so I could give demos at my school. I really needed them as my old set had worn out. I found a great deal on a set of 120 markers through a company called Arteza. They're similar to Copics in quality but at a much lower price.

Anyway here's my first attempt at trying out the new markers...

Hey Charles. This is really nice and colorful! really makes the drawing more alive. Maybe you can do some more things like this in the future. Also do have some preferences on Crash's colouring? Like your design of Crash has a flesh tone face and a yellow stripe up front. But later design's had a buff colour around his face and chest.

Hey there Hazman. When I click on the image to enlarge it looks like the colors get a little washed out. The colors on the original are very vibrant. Next I'm going to try them out on Neo Cortex. I have the drawing done I just need to color it.

Crash's color always baffled me. I didn't set up the color patterns. The guys at ND did. So I don't know what to say about it other than I try to make it work on the occasions when I color the character.

Nice drawing as alaways! Yeah it looks a little weird in coloring, maybe it's a scanner issue.
Anyway about the colors, we know they chose red so it would stick out over the green and grey backgrounds, I noticed that the ND team gave all the bandicoots in the series this color scheme (Coco, Tawna, the Trophy Girls in CTR), was that always the idea? Every species has a certain color scheme?

I don't think the scanner is the problem. If it was I'd see it in Photoshop. I'm sure it's something in Blogger.

The colors of Crash are pretty good except for the mouth area and his belly and maybe inner ear. It's a very unusual combination and I don't think I'd have gone along with it if I had a say in that aspect of development. Other than that I can't say what ND's ideas were as far as species color etc. I assume that's what they had in mind.

What would you change in the colors if you could do that in a new game? Also was it your idea to change Crash's and other characters colors (in the case of Coco her design too) in CNK?

I had nothing to do with character colors on CNK. Whatever decisions were made in that area was through Vicarious Visions as far as I can tell.

Concerning the colors on Crash I would've modified them somewhat. Mostly in the area of his belly. Overall the colors on Crash are pretty good except for his belly and maybe the mouth color. Never cared for that combination.

Hello Charles Zembillas,
I know I already wrote you before saying this, but anyway I wanna tell that I'm a big fan of Crash Bandicoot games and especially the classic ones, and I always admire your arts and concepts, your characters designs are really amazing ♥ maybe could you someday show me how would you do my character Ara Bandicoot in your own style? https://www.deviantart.com/scorpion-ermac-mk/art/Ara-Bandicoot-Biography-and-Story-609212015 it would be a big honor for me! I understand that you're a busy and professional person, I'm not doing a request or something hehe but just in case that you want to do it someday, you have my permission to do something with her anytime, I'm trying my best to improve my character and to learn more by others, taking inspiration from others artists and updating her every time that I think it is necessary :)♥

And... anyway XD I'm here to seeing your works, but I just wanted to tell you this because I admire your artworks and I wish I could continue learning from an good artist like you :3

Greetings from Uruguay, and sorry for my bad english!

Hi Araceli Kahn. Thanks for your comments. Your English is very good! I'll draw Ara Bandicoot. If you can be a little patient I'll try and get to it soon.
